About Us

Brother's Fine Foods is a family owned and operated business dedicated to producing high quality specialty foods that not only look good, but taste good, too. The partnership consists of myself, Matt Harris, and my father, Tom Harris, who you'll soon come to know as "Brother". Below, you will find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
Where did you get the name Brother's Fine Foods?
Most of the time we joke about this and dad says that I'm his older brother. The truth is, I named the business Brother's Fine Foods after the man that made this all possible for me. That person is Tom Harris (a.k.a. Brother). Not only did he provide me with a great product (our 2004 1st place Scovie Award Winning Medium Pepper Relish), but he also provided me with the financial and moral support that I needed to succeed.
How did Brother get his name?
Brother grew up in a large close knit family where many of his extended family members shared the same name. This was so confusing to his sister that she just called him "Brother". As time went on, the family decided that this was easier than figuring out which Tom, Thomas, or Tommy they were talking about, so they called him "Brother" as well. After six years in business, almost everyone in town calls him "Brother".
How did you get started in this business?
Sometimes when asked this question I reply. " I don't know, maybe it was temporary insanity," but the truth still reads like a fairy tale to me. See, dad made a pepper relish from an old family recipe and gave it to his friends and family at Christmas and on special occasions. People loved it so much they kept asking why he didn't put it on the market (not thinking that they would have to pay for it then). In 1997, when I found myself between jobs, the entrepreneur in me came out and I decided to give it a shot. I enjoy cooking and my parents are two of the best cooks, ever. I figured I had the background for it.
We started in the basement kitchen of my father-in-law's house with one product, a twenty quart pot, and a dream. Six years and many, many hurdles later, here we are. We are proud of what became of that dream. So, take a look around our web site. I think you will like what you see, and I know you will like what you taste.
